TOWN OF CEDAREDGE

Cedaredge is a small agricultural community known for beef cattle, apples, peaches, and wine. Attractions include Cedaredge Golf Club, Historic Pioneer Town, and multiple art galleries. Cedaredge is the gateway to Grand Mesa and a popular destination for outdoor recreation offering camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. Located on the Grand Mesa National Scenic and Historic Byway, Powderhorn Resort is located 30 miles north of town, is a local favorite and is a great family ski resort.

TOWN OF CRAWFORD

Crawford features a vibrant farming and ranching community long been known as a cow town and for its cattle drives down main street, which is Hwy 92, each spring and fall. Crawford is the gateway to the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park which provides numerous outdoor activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking, biking and photography in the summer.  It is also home to Crawford State Park which offers boating, water skiing, paddle boards, jet skiing, fishing and picnicking.

CITY OF DELTA

The City of Delta is the county seat and the most populous area of the county. Delta sits at the confluence of the Uncompahgre and Gunnison rivers. Attractions include Fort Uncompahgre, a reconstruction of an original frontier trading post, the “City of Murals”, acres of parkland (including a new bike park), the Dominguez-Escalante National Wilderness Areas, and at the heart of the community, the historic downtown. A Farmers’ Market and multiple fresh fruit and vegetable stands are open during the summer.

TOWN OF HOTCHKISS

Known as the “friendliest town around,” Hotchkiss sits at the gateway of the North Fork Valley 20 miles east of the City of Delta.  Hotchkiss is home to the Delta County Fair grounds, hosting large outdoor events like the Delta County Fair, Sheep Dog Trials and local jackpot team roping and barrel racing.  The rich agricultural and western heritage is uniquely paired with the North Fork Recreation District that includes an outdoor swimming pool, soccer and ball fields, and miles of single track trails.

ORCHARD CITY

A smaller town filled with fruit farms, about 11.4 square miles. Aside from being a top produce distributor, Orchard City is known for scenic landscapes, wineries, river spots for fishing, museums, and restaurants. Perhaps its most well known feature is Hart’s Basin (Fruit Grower’s Reservoir), a birder’s heaven for many years and the first Important Birding Area designated in Colorado.

TOWN OF PAONIA

Paonia is located at the eastern end of the county at the foothills the majestic West Elk mountains. It is a vibrant community of coal miners, fruit growers, artists, activists, agriculturists, foodies, and artisans. Paonia is home to KVNF (90.9), the busy Blue Sage Center for the Arts, the local and lively Paradise Theater, the award winning environmental newspaper High Country News, and many fine vineyards and organic farms. Visitors to Paonia are charmed by its natural beauty and bustling cultural scene
