County Incentives
The County’s economic development efforts support existing businesses, retain existing employment, as well as foster new employment opportunities for Delta County.
The role of County government is to support and facilitate other public and private economic development efforts when appropriate. The County also plays a role in creating a business friendly environment.
- R/E tax abatement
- Business / Personal Property Tax Incentives
- Partnerships with One Delta County: An Economic Alliance, Delta County Hospital District, Delta County School District, Region 10, Uncompahgre Development, existing businesses and other organizations with an economic development focus
- Demographic, Economic, Labor Market and GIS data and information
- Focus on community development and project development, including enhancement of public infrastructure and development of community facilities
Municipal Incentives
The municipalities of the county derive economic benefits from the establishment of new business and expansion of existing businesses through the creation of jobs, attracting new investments in the municipalities and increased sales tax revenues. The municipalities may consider the following:
- Waiver of fees and rebates of certain taxes for businesses and multi-family projects
- Waiving of a portion of building permit fees
- Rebating a portion of the applicable sales and/or use tax received by the municipality for project materials
- Donation of a portion of water/sewer tap fees and system improvement fees

- Business Cultivator incubator for new business ideas and food entrepreneurs looking for a commercial kitchen
